FallHike is a planning and trail-reference aid, not a substitute for posted signs, park rules, emergency preparation, or situational awareness. GPS accuracy varies under tree cover and in ravines.
FallHike compares foliage, Saturday/Sunday weather, recent rain and distance, then ranks the strongest options.

Localized foliage timing comes from Autumn Guide’s 2026 weather-driven model. FallHike samples the forecast grid at the park’s coordinates, uses local elevation when available, combines it with current Open-Meteo forecasts and recent rainfall, and overlays Illinois’ official regional guidance. Trail and park discovery uses OpenStreetMap data.
Forecasts are planning estimates. Tree species, slope, soil moisture, wind damage and microclimates can make conditions vary even within the same park.
